P.A.L.S. (PUPILS AGAINST LABELS AND STEREOTYPES)
Okulumuz 2024-2025 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında yürütülmek üzere P.A.L.S. - Pupil Against Labels and Stereotypes (Öğrenciler Etiketlere ve Kalıplaşmış Yargılara Karşı) adlı eTwinning projesine katılmıştır. Bu proje, 12-14 yaş arası öğrenciler arasında kapsayıcılığı, empatiyi ve kültürel farkındalığı geliştirmeyi amaçlayan uluslararası işbirlikçi bir eTwinning projesidir. Klişeleri yıkan kampanyalar oluşturarak ve sanal fotoğraf ve video sergisi gibi ilgi çekici etkinlikler aracılığıyla öğrenciler kalıp yargılara meydan okuyacak, çeşitliliği kucaklayacak ve eleştirel düşünme, takım çalışması ve dijital becerileri geliştirecektir. Proje, kültürler arası iş birliğini teşvik ederek öğrencilerin İngilizce dil yeterliliklerini geliştirirken açık fikirli küresel vatandaşlar olmalarına yardımcı olacaktır. Proje etkinlikleri Aralık ayından başlayarak Mayıs ayına kadar aylık olarak yürütülecektir.
P.A.L.S. (Pupils Against Labels and Stereotypes) is a collaborative eTwinning project aimed at fostering inclusivity, empathy, and cultural awareness among students aged 12–14. Through engaging activities such as creating stereotype-busting campaigns and a virtual photo and video exhibition, students will challenge stereotypes, celebrate diversity, and develop critical thinking, teamwork, and digital skills. The project encourages cross-cultural collaboration, helping pupils become open-minded global citizens while improving their English language proficiency.

Through participation in this project, students will:
1.Develop critical thinking skills:
- Analyze and challenge stereotypes and biases in media, everyday interactions, and cultural narratives.
- Reflect on their own assumptions and learn to question them constructively.
2. Enhance communication and collaboration:
- Practice effective communication by engaging in structured dialogues with peers from different cultural backgrounds.
- Work collaboratively on shared tasks such as visual storytelling, digital presentations, and creative challenges.
3. Improve digital competences:
- Utilize online platforms (e.g., TwinSpace, collaborative tools) for communication, content creation, and project management.
- Gain experience in creating multimedia outputs, such as e-books, videos, and infographics.
4. Strengthen language skills:
- Use English in real-world contexts to express ideas, negotiate, and interact with peers.
- Expand vocabulary related to social themes, empathy, and inclusivity.
5. Foster social and emotional skills:
- Develop empathy and understanding through interactions with students from diverse cultures.
- Build self-confidence and self-expression by participating in activities like mystery pen pals, debates, and presentations.
6. Promote creativity and problem-solving:
- Engage in creative activities such as designing stereotype-busting campaigns or collaborative storytelling.
- Find innovative ways to address and overcome cultural misunderstandings.
7. Prepare for Global Citizenship:
- Understand the impact of cultural biases and stereotypes on individuals and societies.
- Learn to value diversity as a strength and promote inclusivity in their communities.
Each of these aims aligns with specific activities in the project, such as the mystery pen pals, collaborative challenges, and the final presentation of stereotype-busting outputs. These skills and competences are not only practical but also highly relevant to the students' development as empathetic and engaged global citizens.
